Daphne

What’s in a name:  The name Daphne is derived from the Greek word for Laurel, which seems nonsensical until you consider the connection to Greek mythology. As the story goes, Daphne, a beautiful water nymph, was pursued by a lovesick Apollo. The nymph pleaded with her father to help her escape Apollos clutches and so… he turned her into a laurel tree.

Why we love it: A glimmer of life in the depths of winter, Daphne will brighten any day with its beautiful fragrance and delicate flowers. Whether white or pink or somewhere in between they bring joy to any audience.

How to get the most out of them: Daphne do not have the longest vase life, but the perfume is well worth it! They are wonderful on their own in a small vase:

1. Purchase when fully open and fragrant.
2. Clear leaves from the lower half of the stem.
3. Recut stems with sharp secateurs and immediately place in cold water.
4. Use preservative and replenish with fresh water every day.
5. Keep away from sunlight and draughts, hot or cold.
