What’s in a name:  Sedum is a hearty succulent and the common name of Stonecrop denotes the plants ability to seemingly grow from bare rock and stone.

Why we love it: Sedum is a wonderful autumn flower that begins the season green and tightly-budded before blooming into the most delicate pale pink or burgundy flowers. With a wonderful vase life it is an absolute winner for any and all floral arrangements.

How to get the most out of them: Sedum will reward you with a long vase life and heads brimming with beautiful flowers for little work:

1. Purchase when fully open.
2. Avoid bunches with yellowing leaves.
3. Avoid dull flowers as this may be a sign of age.
4. Clear leaves from the lower half of the stem.
5. Recut stems with sharp secateurs and immediately place in water.
6. Use preservative and replenish with fresh water every day.
